
Maher Abduselam, JD, CPA
Maher Abduselam is a brilliant business attorney advising a diverse base of clients, from small entrepreneurs to large corporations. As an attorney and a certified public accountant (CPA), Maher is well positioned to provide technical assistance to businesses of all sizes.
As a testament to the depth and strength of his legal and business acumen, Maher often acts as a virtual in-house general counsel to clients. He handles wide-ranging projects for clients, from shorter-term discrete matters, such as drafting and negotiating one-off agreements (e.g., shareholders agreements and non-disclosure agreements), to longer-term more complex commercial transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, tax planning and disputes, capital markets transactions, commercial lending and various other legal needs.
Maher is a graduate of Augsburg College and Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He gained valuable experience in law school while working for AGM Financial as a Financial and Tax Consultant. He then went on to work on corporate mergers & acquisitions, corporate formations, and white collar criminal cases as a Summer Associate at Fredrikson & Byron. Upon graduation, Maher joined the legal department of a national accounting firm where he worked on tax audits, tax controversies and compliance, succession issues, and financing of special projects. Prior to founding Mohamed Zain, LLP, Maher was as a Senior Associate at Rödl & Partner and more recently at Ernest & Young where he provided technical tax advice and international tax planning services to a portfolio of companies, including Fortune 500 companies.
